NFL Play 60 A Day

In 2007 NFL launched a national youth health and fitness campaign “NFL PLAY 60 A DAY.” This campaign focuses on increasing the wellness of young fans, by encouraging them to get 60 min of physcial activity a day.
The NFL has a list of partners in this project all working together to tackle childhood obesity, including Nicelodeon, Cartoon Network, KaBOOM!, Gatorade, and the American Heart Association.
This Campaign is supported by coaches and players year round, but prominent durring the key calander events such as Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, Thanksgiving, and durring the draft.
To date, the NFL has dedicated over $200 million dollars to youth health and wellness through “NFL PLAY 60.”

Play Matters: Help build Kiddie Corral Park - KaBOOM! style!!
Thanks to everyone who came out for last week’s Planning Day. We’re now one step closer to our new Kiddie Corral Park. If you haven’t heard, Blue Island Park District received a KaBOOM! grant to build a new Kiddie Corral Park.
In 1 day, a complete park will be built in 6 hours! Blue Island Park District is looking for 150 volunteers. What a great opportunity for Blue Islanders to come together, help children stay healthy and leave a mark on our community. Call Cathie at 708-653-7354 for details.
